What the hell does that mean ? Well its been WELL over 100 degree's here the last few weeks. Heat and I dont get along for a few reasons , mainly it brings on my migraines. Heat and I did not use to get along becuase , well lets face it at 250 plus pounds who the hell wants to be out in that ? Lugging all that extra weight around ?
2 yrs ago I was a shut in basically . I would barely leave the house. But for SURE during the summer time, it took an act of congress to get me to leave the house in the heat of the day .
I went to the grocery store at night , IF I had to do something I was inside. I never took my kids to the pool , for out door activities, if we were invited to a party most of the time my husband would take the kids and i would stay at home.
Vacations, or out of town trips FORGET IT . My ass was NOT going.
NOW.. 2 years, 115 pounds and a lap band later ! The difference I cant even hardly explain . My son has been playing in a select touch football league ( Its a HUGE deal here in Texas ) Its called 7 on 7 . He has games every Tuesday and tourments on Saturdays. Just to give you an example of how my life has changed. This saturday they had the last qualifing tourment for state. They played 5 HOURS , thats right HOURS of football , 5 games . No big deal huh ? Except it was 112 degree's here !!
I was IN THE SHADE and STILL managed to get sun burnt!
But I was THERE . Loving every mintue of it. The team qualified to go to state.
That means they go next weekend ( the weekend after this one ) to College Station to play in the state tournment . Im SO looking forward to it. It WILL be in the heat , but I dont care. I'll be there. 2 Years ago .. I am not so sure i would have. IF I would have i would have been MISERABLE the whole time . I was sitting at a birthday party this weekend AFTER the 5 hour football marathon thinking MY GAWD how did i carry all that weight around in that heat living in Texas all those years ?
I thank goodness I had my surgery that's for sure !!
So im preparing for our trip to Aggie Land as we say here in Texas !!!
